Villa Tannay by Lin.Robbe.Seiler

Designed in 2016 by Lin.Robbe.Seiler, this spacious concrete house ft views over Lake Geneva and the Alps is situated in Nyon, Switzerland.

Occupying a corner plot in a residential area, this cruciform single-family home encompasses an array of exterior spaces and outdoor uses. The entrance, located on the north side, opens broadly towards the intersection and the neighbouring public park, while the private garden areas are naturally oriented towards the south and southwest.

Resembling a folded ribbon, the project creates spacious open passages between interior and exterior areas that are completely unlocked by large sliding doors.

The ground floor houses the living spaces in a z-shaped sequential layout including a guest suite, while the upper floor rationally aligns the two children’s bedrooms and the master bedroom, connected to a large terrace with views over Lake Geneva and the Alps.

The structural expression of the cantilevers, the wooden formwork of the concrete and the dark cedar façade all give this house a brutalist and contrasting style.
